The main altar stands as the sacred heart of the church, beautifully adorned with intricate carvings and symbolic decorations. It is the central place of worship where the Holy Eucharist is celebrated, drawing the faithful into deep reverence and devotion, reflecting divine presence and spiritual grace.
Important events relating to the life of Mother Mary are painted on the walls inside the church.
Built on the lines of ancient Kerala Sculpture. (During the feast days the original statue of Koratty Muthy is taken in procession from the church and placed for veneration in Roopa-pura).
Beautifully carved out doors of the church
The church’s main entrance door is made of teak wood, bearing the image of the Kottakattuchira church’s patron saint.
The ancient granite stone cross
The Cross near the Kottakattuchira Old Church is a place where those who have committed crimes and their victims come to pray for justice. This shrine, which has a cross made of copper and granite, is dedicated to St. George.
There is a Grotto, a symbol of contemplation and devotion. Over 50 diviners and the prayers of the faithful fill this place with a unique grace. R
